Account Director / Healthcare Communications

We are working with an independent medical communications agency who partner with leading global pharmaceutical and medical device companies to improve healthcare and drive meaningful change. They bring a strategic mindset, creative energy, and desire to innovate to all of their projects, underpinned by deep understanding of the science.


They are currently looking for an outstanding Account Director to join their growing team.




You will manage one of the key global accounts, successfully developing communication strategies and delivering high-quality projects that exceed client expectations while achieving financial targets. You will have responsibility for organic growth of the account, nurturing client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand their remit. You will also manage a capable Account Team and liaise closely with colleagues in the Content, Creative and Digital Teams.


This is a pivotal role within the business and as such, requires a proven Account Director with appropriate skills to compliment your experience gained within a medical communications environment. You will demonstrate previous account and leadership success, and possess excellent skills in the management of people, cost, quality and compliance in order to take this business forward.



Knowledge and experience

Scientifically literate, with a degree or higher preferably in biomedical sciences

Proven experience in a medical communications agency at Account Director level

Deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, the responsibilities and needs of medical affairs teams, and compliance and the regulatory environment

Knowledge and experience of working in multiple therapy areas

Experience of successfully delivering a wide variety of different types of medical communications activities

Expertise in mentoring, line managing and developing a team



Excellent interpersonal and line management skills

Excellent numeracy, written and oral communication skills

Proven project management abilities

Confident and articulate with excellent presentation skills
